Diane is a Basketmaker from Boyertown, Pennsylvania, specializing in the use of natural materials, many of which she gathers and prepares. She began making baskets in 1978 with vines such as honeysuckle, grapevine, wisteria and willow. She stains her baskets with a natural dye made from black walnut husks. As she continues to use materials and dyes indigenous to PA, her interest in exotic materials from Florida and California can be seen in many of her baskets.
Diane is a member of the Reading-Berks PA Guild of Craftsmen and a juried member of the PA Guild of Craftsmen. In 2007, one of her baskets was featured on the Cover Illustration of the Crafts Report Magazine. Diane’s work has received numerous awards and she sells at select juried exhibitions.
